Prepare Your Store For The Holidays
    ——-
For most online businesses, the upcoming holiday season brings excellent opportunities to increase order volume. It is important that you are prepared to make the most of these opportunities.

How to be Prepared for the Holiday Season

With the holidays almost upon us, it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy that inevitably ensues, but it’s critically important to make sure that your online store is ready. We recommend planning ahead and making sure everything is in order now. Our blog post on this topic from 2014 is still relevant and covers main areas that you should take a look at:

    https://www.lexiconn.com/blog/2014/09/its-never-to-early-to-start-preparing-for-the-holidays/

We offer a variety of tools for some of the issues touched upon in the blog post listed above, including:

Why No Padlock? – helps you easily spot insecure items on secure pages: https://www.whynopadlock.com/
htaccess Check – validates your .htaccess file for syntax errors: http://www.htaccesscheck.com/
Shipping API Monitor – tracks shipping API outages at FedEx, UPS, and USPS: http://www.shippingapimonitor.com/

Also, as mentioned in the blog post, having targeted Google Shopping campaigns can be an excellent investment. These campaigns display your product images, price, and business name right on Google search results, regardless of the device people are using. You only pay when they click through to visit your website, so it’s a great idea for your most popular/niche products. Complete information about this service can be found at:

    https://www.google.com/retail/shopping-campaigns/

Another suggestion would be to have a gift ideas section on your website. This will allow you to display some featured products, as well as let your visitors know that your site is current and regularly updated. Sending out a newsletter or a targeted email campaign to your client base is also highly recommended at this time of year as it will remind them of your offerings, and allow you to incentivize them if so desired. We have an in-house mailing list system (https://www.lexiconn.com/services/mailing_list.html), and are partnered with Constant Contact (https://www.lexiconn.com/constantcontact/), both of which are ideal for this type of mailing.
